Brewster and Sefcik Receive National Team Call-Ups

Internationals SC standouts Jordan Brewster and Loren Sefcik both received national team call-ups that will take them overseas for international competitions.

The opportunity for Loren and Jordan to travel the world and be exposed to international competition is helping to accelerate their development and we are thrilled that they continue to earn the opportunity to represent our club and our country abroad,” Internationals SC Founder, President, and Director of Coaching Zdravko Popovic said.

Brewster and the U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team will travel to La Manga, Spain from March 29-April 10 for three matches against other Under-23 National Teams.

During La Manga, the USA will face Sweden on April 5, play England on April 7, and finish against Italy on April 9. The games are part of a friendly tournament that also features the U-23 WNTs of France and Norway and the U-20 WNTs of England, China and Norway.

The roster for La Manga features players from three birth years, with eight players born in 1998 (the age cut-off year for the World Cup), 13 born in 1999 and three born in 2000.   Brewster is one of only five players on the roster who have not yet enrolled in college.

The U.S. U-20 WNT is coming off a successful trip to France in early March that served as a test run for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. The USA played the France U-20 WNT twice, both in World Cup venues, winning 1-0 and drawing 2-2.

Sefcik and the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team will travel to Switzerland from March 31-April 11 for a training camp and two games against the Switzerland U-19 WNT.  U.S. U-18 WNT head coach Jaime Frias has brought a team that features 13 players born in 2000, which is the birth year for this year’s U-18 WNT, and seven players born in 1999, which is the U-19 WNT birth year for 2018.

The U.S. U-18 WNT will meet the Swiss first on Saturday, April 7 at 10 a.m. ET (4 p.m. local) at Stadium Hessgut-Liebefeld in Köniz. The teams will meet again on Tuesday, April 10 at 7 a.m. ET (1 p.m. local) at Tissot Arena in Biel.  The roster is made up of 11 youth club players and 9 college players.
