Sky’s the Limit for Schuyler Dick

Internationals SC standout Schuyler Dick has committed to play college soccer at Caltech.

“I chose Caltech because it has an excellent Chemical Engineering program,” Dick commented. “Also, they just started a women's soccer program last year which I am excited to be joining. At Caltech, I will be able to pursue my love of chemistry while being able to continue playing the game I love.”

Simply put, Caltech was a perfect fit for the Hudson, Ohio native.  She has been with Internationals SC since August of 2012.

“ISC has consistently encouraged us to be the best in all areas of our lives: soccer, academics, character,” Dick added. “When we hit the field, I know the expectation is always the same - play your personal best.  The coaches here have provided me with extensive tactical knowledge as well as developed my overall soccer mentality. When we practice, it is with the same mentality and intensity as when we play- practice well, play well.”

Having the opportunity to play in the ECNL provided her with the opportunity to be seen by hundreds of college coaches and scouts.

“Playing in the ECNL allowed me to play at the highest level of soccer available in the U.S.,” Dick continued. “By traveling around the country to play soccer, I was exposed to some of the best players in the U.S., which challenged me to become a better player.”

Internationals SC coaches and staff helped Dick and her family navigate the recruiting process, which can be challenging without support.

“The Internationals have been very supportive during the college recruiting process,” Dick concluded. “Initially, they provided extensive information as to how to contact and approach college coaches.  When it came time for college coaches to watch me play, my ISC coaches made sure I had plenty of visibility.  They also wrote letters of recommendation for me to submit with my applications.”

Internationals SC Founder, President, and Director of Coaching Zdravko Popovic is excited to see what Dick can do in her college career as she attends a prestigious university and plays for a program in just its second year.

“She was one of the most technically gifted and talented players even at a young age.  Through passion, love, and hard work, she kept on developing to be better day in and day out.  Today she is an integral part of our team and program.  She is an exceptionally bright young lady that is very focused.  She is intellectually and soccer intelligent.  I am extremely happy and proud of her and truly believe that her future is bright and that the sky is the limit for her.”

It’s quite evident that the soon-to-be Walsh Jesuit HS graduate will have an impact at Caltech on and off the field.
