Internationals SC Impresses at the 2018 Red Lion Invitational

Internationals Soccer Club outperformed their competition at the 2018 Red Lion Invitational in Indianapolis, IN. The club finished first in the U10 Premier and were champions in three divisions: U11 Premier, U12 Premier, and U12 First Division.

Internationals 2008 Red (U10) heavily outscored their opponents, finishing with 32 goals for and only one against. They played hosts and fellow ECNL member, FC Pride, Greater Toledo Football Club, and Indy Strikers.

Internationals 2007 Red (U11) went undefeated and defeated fellow Ohio North club Pennine United in the championship game. They only conceded one goal on route to them becoming champions.

Internationals 2006 Red (U12) won the Premier Division by scoring 12 goals and conceding zero. The girls played Greater Toledo Football, fellow ECNL member Ohio Premier, and clinched the championship with a 7-0 win over fellow Ohio North club West Side Stars.

Internationals 2006 Blue Heath (U12) ended their group play with three wins, scoring 21 and only giving up one. They played fellow Ohio North club Greater Toledo Football Club, Alliance FC Indiana, and Bluegrass Soccer Club. They claimed the championship with a win over Southstars Storm in the final.

Also participating in the tournament were Internationals 2006 Blue Morgan (U12), Internationals 2004 Blue (U14), and Internationals 2002 Blue (U16).

“At our older age groups, each team played a strong schedule and grew in strength as the weekend went on,” Internationals SC Assistant Director Mark Platts commented. “Our U14 team, made up of a group of our U13s and U14s, came together to compete in close games, working well together and making improvements as individuals and as a group. Our U16 team, made up of a group of our U15 and U16 players, played a very strong opponent in their first game but with each game developed a good chemistry and found ways to play to their strengths.  We ended the weekend with a nice 3-1 win through a strong team defensive display and some critical finishing.”
