More Success for Internationals SC

On Saturday evening Internationals U13 ECNL came away as champions from the first-ever annual CSAIU Girls Winter Kickoff at Lost Nationals Sports Park in Willoughby, OH. Playing three games against CSAIU, Erie Admirals, and Croatia Juniors, ISC won all three games scoring six goals, while maintaining three shutouts. "The team moved the ball quickly, played composed in attack and defense and were able to score goals at important times during the games," said Internationals SC Assistant Coaching Director Mark Platts. "It was a great team effort and we are proud of how the players competed."

The following day saw Internationals 2005 Red team compete against Erie Admirals, Canton United, CSAIU, and Croatia Juniors and come away as runners-up. Outscoring their opponents 11 to 3, the team won three of their games with three shutouts and lost a closely contested fourth game by just one goal.

"As the day went on the team grew stronger in their performances and showed consistency in the way they pressured the opposition, moved off of the ball, and managed to limit their opponents chances on goal," Platts added. "It was great to play in a slightly bigger format in the 9v9 game and I think all of our players gained a lot from the weekend's event."
