Internationals SC Impresses at 16th Annual Pacesetter Invitational

Internationals Soccer Club competed at the 16th Annual Pacesetter Invitational this past weekend at Pacesetter Park. There were teams from five states and Canada who competed at the tournament.

Internationals were able to advance four teams to the finals held on Monday. Internationals 2010 came away finalists after a hard-fought final game. This was their very first tournament as a team and we look forward to seeing their progress over the years to come.

Internationals 2009 Red beat Michigan Hawks 09 Black 6-5 in overtime of the final after an exciting final which kept everyone on the edge of their seats. Internationals were able to score the winning goal with only two minutes left and were able to secure their tournament championship in thrilling fashion.

Internationals 2008 Red beat Ohio Premier Green 2-0 in their final on Monday in a dominant performance in all aspects of the game.

Internationals 2007 Red lost a tough, hard-fought, and well-played game against a talented Team Challenger FC team in the final 4-2. It was a well-played game all around and certainly an entertaining game to watch.

"Overall this was a great experience for our players," Internationals Soccer Club Girls Youth Director Mike Stoerkel said. "When you play against some of the top teams in our region you learn a lot about yourself, as a club, as a team and as an individual player. We are proud of the effort the players gave this weekend and the result was an excellent experience for them and for most of them, some good momentum to carry into State Cup next weekend."
