Internationals SC will be among the participating clubs for the Girls ECNL Regional League-Ohio Valley Conference, in three age groups from U15-U17, for the 2019-2020 season.
“We are extremely excited that the ECNL’s Ohio Valley Conference is adding a regional level of competition,” Internationals SC Club and ECNL Director Keri Sarver said. “Our players continue to thrive in the ECNL environment as there are many amazing benefits that aid in long-term player development and enhanced exposure to college recruiting opportunities. For us to be able to offer this level of experience to even more of our players is an unbelievable, positive step as we continue to strive for new levels each year. It is also another factor which separates us from other clubs in the area.”
Other participating clubs include FC Pride, Indiana Fire, Ohio Elite SA, Ohio Premier, Pittsburgh Riverhounds, and WNY Flash.
The competition will bring immediate meaning, as the winners of the Girls ECNL Regional League-Ohio Valley Conference at U15, U16, and U17 will qualify for the ECNL Open Cup at the ECNL National Playoffs.
The league will feature a total of 21 teams across seven member clubs.
“The Girls ECNL Regional League-Ohio Valley Conference will offer competition and service more players, teams, and coaches in the region,” said Girls ECNL Commissioner Jen Winnagle. “We are excited to provide a pathway, and look forward to the first season of competition.”
The Girls ECNL Regional League will be operated and managed by the Girls ECNL.
