ISC Fall Season Finale Sees Success On and Off the Field

Internationals Soccer Club hosted another Fall Season Finale welcoming over 50 teams to Copley Road Soccer Complex this past weekend.  Although the weather provided some challenges, all players played quality soccer and ended the fall season on a high.

Internationals teams provided some strong performances throughout the weekend that resulted in six of the ten divisions seeing ISC top the table.  ISC came away as champions in the U10 Elite, U11 Elite, U12 Elite, U12 Competitive, U13, and U15 divisions.

"It was great to see all of our ages compete against quality opponents," ISC Club and ECNL Director Keri Sarver said. "The soccer that our players were able to execute in wet and windy conditions is a testament to the training and coaching that these players are receiving on a daily basis at the Internationals."

Other victorious teams on the weekend were Team Challenger U9 Black and U11 White, Medina 2010 Green, and Pacesetter Red U14s.  "We want to thank all those clubs who supported our event and the families who braved it through the wet weather in support of their daughters," ISC U13-14 Director Mark Platts said. “We were thrilled to welcome World Cup Champion, Olympic Champion, and U.S. Soccer legend April Heinrichs as our guest presenter for the champions and finalist awards.  April spent the afternoon with us and shared her passion and knowledge to inspire the next generation of players.”

The success did not end on the field though.  The weekend saw ISC support the charity set up in memory of former ISC standout Taylor Ceepo.   A 50/50 raffle was held throughout the weekend and over $900 was donated to the Taylor Paige Ceepo Memorial Fund.

"It is awesome to know that our club members and the soccer community continues to come together to honor such a wonderful cause," Sarver added. "We are thankful to the people who purchased 50/50 raffle tickets and helped us raise a total of $942."

The Internationals would also like to recognize the contributions made by the Cleveland Clinic, who was the sponsor of our event, and all of the volunteers who helped the event run smoothly.
