Strong Showing from Internationals SC at All-Star Indoor Tournament

Internationals Soccer Club wrapped up another successful All-Star Indoor Tournament this past weekend where it hosted almost 50 teams from Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.  Play took place at Pinnacle Sports in Medina and fully occupied the indoor fields from Friday afternoon through Sunday evening.  Eight different divisions were closely contested with Internationals coming out on top in four of the eight.

"It was another successful tournament full of great soccer, competitive games, and some very exciting finals,” said Mark Platts, one of the tournament directors. “We are so thankful for the clubs and teams who supported this year’s event and who made it such a great experience for the players and families."

CFC were crowned champions in the youngest division, edging out Highland Girls in the U9/U10 final.  In the U10 and U11 divisions Internationals came out on top with an overtime victory for the Internationals 2010 Ertz over the SPSA Screaming Eagles and a convincing tournament display by the Internationals 2009 Red team, who won all four of its games on the weekend.  2008 Beadling South Elite girls took home the U12 title in a one-goal thriller to end a fiercely contested final.

The 13/14 title was taken home by CEP 06 Royal beating Fort Wayne United 13U Girls Academy in the last game.  Liberty FC went undefeated in group play to win the U15 Premier division, while the U15 Competitive division was an all ISC affair with ISC 2007 ECNL edging ISC 2006 Lavelle.  The last final of the tournament saw ISC 2006 ECNL finish off a dominant weekend coming away with the spoils against a tough Croatia Juniors U17 Girls team.

"We want to thank Pinnacle Sports for allowing us to host the event, the Internationals SC members for their commitment to our club and the sport of soccer, the referees who helped keep the tournament running smoothly, and a big thank you to our event sponsor, the Cleveland Clinic,” Dean Dishman, one of the other people responsible for hosting the event, said. “Without the Cleveland Clinic's support, we would not be able to create such a wonderful weekend of soccer."
